Kaseda (加世田市; -shi) was a city located in Kagoshima, Japan.
On November 7, 2005 Kaseda was merged with the town of Kinpō, from Hioki District, and the towns of Bonotsu, Kasasa and Ōura from Kawanabe District, to form the new city of Minamisatsuma. As of this merger Kaseda no longer exists.
As of 2003, the city had an estimated population of 23,740 and the density of 251.56 persons per km². The total area was 94.37 km².
The city was founded on July 15, 1954.
Kasedakabotya is very famous.
